Wenyi is a Chinese ornithologist with professional experience working with birds in southwestern China, as well as internationally in the United States, Canada, Peru, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic. He is currently working on his PhD with Dr. Scott Robinson at the University of Florida, where his research focuses on the impact of Alder-leaf Birch (Betula alnoides) plantations on the bird community in Yunnan, China. As an avid birder, Wenyi enjoys traveling in China and around the world to observe birds and record their vocalizations. His passion for birding began when he came across a flock of Steller’s Jays in Seattle, Washington back in 2015. Since 2021, Wenyi has been guiding part-time for AlpineBirding.
