One Day Yazi River Birding Tour
Yazi River is a small branch of the Yangtze River that flows through Deyang City, so it is known as the mother river for Deyang people. It is an important winter ground for thousands of migratory birds, particularly swimming birds and wading birds. The best season for this trip is from late Sep to late Apr. The shore areas we are going to visit conveniently located about 1-hour drive from downtown Chengdu, we can easily finish this trip in one day with nice opportunities of seeing some interesting migratory and resident birds.

Day 1: Round trip from Chengdu to Yazi River.
In the morning, we will pick you up at your hotel or at the airport, then we drive about 1 hour to the Yazi River. Yazi River is located to the north of Chengdu and has very good beaches and thickets, many waterbirds visit this area every winter. The bird species we can find here are different from the seasons, normally we can expect species like Common Shelduck, Ruddy Shelduck, Falcated Duck, Eurasian Wigeon, Chinese Spot-billed Duck, Northern Pintail, Red-crested Pochard, Common Pochard, Baer's Pochard, Goosander, Great Crested Grebe, Black-necked Grebe, Eastern Cattle Egret, Grey Heron, Great White Egret, Black-winged Stilt, Pied Avocet, Northern Lapwing, Grey-headed Lapwing, Long-billed Plover, Little Ringed Plover, Brown-headed Gull, Black-headed Gull, Long-tailed Shrike, Black-throated Bushtit, Red-billed Starling, Yellow-billed Grosbeak, Black-faced Bunting, Little Bunting, etc.
In the late afternoon, we will drive you back to Chengdu either to your hotel or to the airport. This will conclude the services for this scheduled itinerary from AlpineBirding.
